The Hunter Foundation is currently accepting applications for the
Mountaintop Communities Rehabilitation Program. This program benefits
low and very
low income residents in the towns of Ashland, Hunter, Jewett, Lexington,
Prattsville, and Windham by providing financial assistance to help with home
repair costs. If you or anyone you know might benefit from this program
please call Emily Chromczak at 518-589-5050 ext.10. Become a fan of the
Hunter Foundation on Facebook for updates on this and other grant
opportunities. |
| There is a new program available at the town building, Laserfiche, where anyone can come in and use the computer to search archived records for all meetings, minutes, resolutions, town business, etc. The records were typewritten beginning in the 1950's and are current up to Spring 2009. Please see the town clerk during regular business hours. |

Jane P. Bostrom, who recently passed away, a long-time, active resident of the Town of Jewett and also Chair of the Town of Jewett Planning Board for many years, has made a charitable request as follows:

 The town is interested in adding to the Jewett pictures on our website. Anyone who has documents or pictures of historical interest and would let us borrow them for scanning, please contact Elaine Warfield at ewarfield@townofjewett.com. All documents will be safely returned. The town historian, Janet Nicholls, is also interested in such documents for adding to the town's historical archive.

The Town of Jewett is accepting listings and banners on it's new business web pages.Over 9500 visitors came to the site last year. These visitors are often looking for real estate to rent or buy, new construction or remodeling contractors and a whole host of other services like lodging and restaurants.
Now you can reach this active market all year long. There is no charge to services and businesses located in the Town of Jewett for a listing plus a banner linking to your own site if you have one. For other mountaintop businesses and services, there is a one time set up charge of $75 and an annual placement fee of $125.
